During PMA graduate orientation, a small group of graduate student facilitators conduct a sexual violence/sexual harassment (SVSH) awareness training for the incoming graduate students. The training involves learning the terminology for talking about SVSH issues, brainstorming tactics for bystander intervention, and raising awareness about the various offices that exist to give support to students experiencing harassment.
Part of the training involves a facilitation session discussing "case studies" for SVSH and racial harassment that occurred at Caltech. This training is based on a training started by graduate students at UC Berkeley http://www.respectispartofresearch.com/about/.
